Blokus Palooza 2007 - Ottawa

Blokus Palooza 2007 was organized by Nunutella27, Amaretto, Phillylama, and Toby starting in November, 2006.

It was held at the University of Ottawa, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, June 8-10, 2007.

There were twenty players, divided into two groups.

Each player played 4 games, two with blue, two with yellow against randomly assigned opponents.

The first group played two games Friday evening and two games Saturday morning, followed by the second group playing all their four games.

The top two players from each group advanced to a semi-final round on Sunday, with the winners playing the final.

Match points were assigned as follows:

Blue wins by 20 or more: Blue 30, Yellow 0
Blue wins by 10-19: Blue 25, Yellow 0
Blue wins by 5-9: Blue 22, Yellow 4
Blue wins by 1-4: Blue 20, Yellow 5
Tie game: Blue 10, Yellow 13
Yellow wins by 1-4: Blue 2, Yellow 23
Yellow wins by 5-9: Blue 1, Yellow 25
Yellow wins by 10-19: Blue 0, Yellow 28
Yellow wins by 20 or more: Blue 0, Yellow 33

In the tables below, "Colors/Wins" are coded as follows:
B and b mean Blue, Y and y mean yellow, UPPER case for a win, lower case for a loss

In the semi-finals, Zozo defeated Exclam by 12 points (149-142 and 157-152), and Toby defeated Vladimir by 9 (133-158 and 168-134, both games won by blue).

In the finals, Toby defeated Zozo by 21, (162-134 and 141-148, with blue again winning both games).
